Core Strengthening & Stability Training

At Oryan Fitness, core training is built into your personal-training programme — not treated as an afterthought. Learn how to brace effectively, build stability and move with greater control at a level that suits you. Build a stronger, more resilient foundation for training and everyday movement in a private, crowd-free one-to-one studio.

A strong core is more than abs or a long plank

Many people tell me they have a weak core. Usually, they mean they struggle with balance, posture, back stiffness, planks, push-ups, or they feel unsure what to do in the gym.

They may think a strong core means visible abs or holding a plank for as long as possible. It does not.

Your core helps you stay balanced, maintain a strong position, move with control and create a foundation for everyday life and strength training.

Think about standing on a bus or train when it suddenly pulls away or stops. You would still hold the rail for safety, but your body needs to react quickly to stay steady. Your core, hips and legs work together to help you stay stable.

The goal is not to hold a plank for as long as possible. It is to learn how to create tension, brace well and stay in control — like staying steady when a bus or train suddenly pulls away.

Who is it for?

If you spend long hours sitting, have been inactive, or mainly do cardio, targeted core training can help you build more control, stability and confidence in movement.

This approach is for you if you:

  • Want to start strength training but feel unsure where to begin

  • Find planks or push-ups difficult

  • Struggle to stay balanced or controlled during exercise

  • Mainly do cardio and want to build a stronger foundation

  • Want to understand the difference between training your abs and training your core

  • Want focused coaching in a private gym, without the pressure of a busy commercial gym

If you have ongoing, severe or unexplained pain, speak to an appropriate healthcare professional before starting a new training programme.

Core Training Is More Than Sit-Ups and Crunches

Your abs are part of your core, but core training is about more than doing endless crunches, sit-ups or holding a plank for as long as possible.

Exercises such as plank variations, hollow holds and dead bugs can all help build core strength. But there are many ways to train your core, hips and balance — and the right starting point depends on you.

That is why the introductory session is important. It allows me to understand your current strength, control and confidence, then choose the exercises and progressions that suit your level.

Core training is not one exercise for everyone. It is tailored to help you move with more control, improve your balance and maintain better posture.

What we work on in your sessions

Every programme is tailored to your starting point, confidence, movement experience and goals. There is no one-size-fits-all core workout.

In your sessions, you will learn how to:

•Brace your trunk and breathe while maintaining a strong position.

•Build control through your hips, glutes and trunk.

•Improve balance and stability in standing, lifting and everyday movement.

•Progress towards stronger planks and push-ups with good technique.

•Use core strength to support your strength-training programme.

Build strength from the centre out

Whether you want to improve your strength, learn push-ups, feel more in control when you train, or stop feeling lost in the gym, we can build a programme around you.

Oryan Fitness provides private personal training in Islington N1, at The Ivories off Essex Road — around 10 minutes from Highbury & Islington and Angel stations. I also work with clients from Hackney, Stoke Newington and the surrounding area.

Learn in private, not under pressure

Learning new movements can feel intimidating in a busy gym. At Oryan Fitness, you train in a fully private studio with my full attention.

There are no queues for equipment, no crowded gym floor and no pressure to keep up with anybody else. You get clear coaching on how to position yourself, brace, breathe and move.

Core work is not an afterthought at the end of your workout. It is part of building a stronger foundation for everything else you want to do.
